Rep. Foxx Votes Against What???
Matthew Robinson, PhD

Representative Foxx is not representing the people of her district.  Here are some of the things Mrs. Foxx has voted against this year:

·         Funding for the early child development program, Head Start (HR 1429) – 1 of only 48 to vote no
·         Funding for new science and math teachers (“10,000 Teachers, 10 Million Minds Science and Math Scholarship Act”) – 1 of only 10 to vote no
·         Reducing interest rates on need-based college loans (“College Student Relief Act”) – 1 of only 71 to vote no
·         Raising the minimum wage (“Fair Minimum Wage Act”)
·         Allowing the government to negotiate drug prices with pharmaceutical companies (“Medicare Prescription Drug Price Negotiation Act”)
·         Reducing deficit spending (Adopting the Rules of the House, Title 4)
·         Increasing access to small business loans (HR 1332) – 1 of only 45 to vote no
·         Providing tax breaks for small businesses (“Small Business Tax Relief Act”) – 1 only of 45 to vote no
·         Stopping animal fighting for profit (“Animal Fighting Prohibition Enforcement Act”) – 1 of only 39 to vote no
·         Preventing ocean and air pollution by large ships (“Maritime Pollution Prevention Act”) – 1 of only 48 to vote no
·         Protecting the nation’s waterways (“Water Resources Development Act”) – 1 of only 25 to vote no
·         Helping communities better treat wastewater (“Water Quality Investment Act”) – 1 of only 58 to vote no
·         Allowing DC citizens to be represented by a member of Congress (“DC Voting Rights Act”)
·         Raising taxes by 0.1% on multi-millionaires (Amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986)
·         Protecting homosexuals from hate crimes (HR 1592)
·         Developing alternative energy sources to reduce our dependence on foreign oil (“Creating Long-Term Energy Alternatives for the Nation Act”)
·         Funding the National Institute of Standards and Technology (HR 1868) – 1 of only 23  to vote no
·         Funding the Department of Homeland Security (HR 1684)
·         Protecting our country from terrorism (“Implementing the 9/11 Commission Recommendations Act”)
·         Funding the 16 intelligence agencies in the United States (HR 2082)
·         Bringing our troops home from Iraq in six months (HR 2237)

These votes are inconsistent with our values and our interests.  I suggest that anyone who supports Mrs. Foxx start following what she is doing in Washington DC.

She is hurting us all.
